BLOOMINGDALE SCHOOL BOARD SELECTS CANDIDATES TO INTERVIEW FOR SUPERINTENDENT
The Bloomingdale School Board met on September 3 to review applicants for the superintendent position. The Board felt the candidate pool was excellent with 14 applicants and determined to interview five candidates for the position. The Board is being assisted in the search process by MASB, Michigan Association of School Boards with Dr. Rodney Green as the consultant.
The interviews will be held beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday September 7 at the High School Auditorium. The public is encouraged to attend the interviews. A second round of interviews is planned for September 13.
Candidates and the times they will be interviewed are as follows:
Saturday September 7
8:00 a.m. Jaym Abraham, M. Ed., Middle School Principal in Caledonia since 2018. Previously, he was a principal and assistant principal in Allegan and a teacher in Wayland.
8:55 a.m., Katherin Mohney, M.A., State and Federal Programs Manager, Michigan Online School. Previously, she was the Superintendent in Bellevue from 2019-22. She also was associate director for MI-Excel, Calhoun ISD. She also was elementary principal in Battle Creek and a teacher in Lakeview.
9:50 a.m. Susanne Carpenter, M.A., Superintendent in Stephenson, Michigan Schools since 2020. Previously, she was elementary principal in Atherton and was an elementary interventionist in Coldwater. She also was a teacher for 14 years.
10:45 a.m. Rick Frens, M.A., former Superintendent in Schoolcraft 2021-24. Previously, he was middle school principal in Hamilton. He was also a principal and assistant principal in Kelloggsville and a special education teacher in Grandville and Wyoming.
12:10 p.m. Rick Reo, Ed.S., Superintendent in Paw Paw since 2019. Previously, he was Middle and High School Principal in Bloomingdale. He also was high school assistant principal in Bangor and also was a teacher in Bangor.
The Board expects to appoint a new superintendent to begin approximately October 1, 2024.
