Bloomingdale & Pullman Elementary Parents,
All elementary students will be receiving take-home backpacks for the summer. Included below you will find 4 very helpful and easy-to-consume links about the Take-Home Backpacks:
Unboxing Take-Home Backpacks (in-depth version)
How to Use Your Take-Home Backpack (for caregivers)
What's in Kids Learn!
What's in the Family Engagement Guide
The videos above will help you through the process of first unboxing the backpacks, how to then utilize the contents inside the backpacks, and then some specific information related to what's in the "Kids Learn" books and the "Family Engagement Guides".
Also this summer, the district will be providing summer school literacy on Wednesdays.
Two 2 session times will be offered: 9:00-10:00 OR 10:00-11:00.
The teacher will read to students and will be doing some other activities with the students.
The sessions will alternate between Bloomingdale and Pullman each week:
6/8 - BE, 6/15 -PE; 6/22-BE; 6/29-PE, 7/13 - BE; 7/20 - PE, 7/27 - BE, 8/3 PE (last day),
Important information: We will NOT be providing transportation and we will NOT be providing food. All students k-5 are invited to attend 1 of the sessions. (Students will not be allowed to attend both sessions).
We are hopeful that these backpacks will be a useful tool for your students this summer. We also hope to see your students at one of the summer literacy sessions!
