Bloomingdale Public Schools is proud to announce that Pullman Elementary School has received significant recognition from Michigan’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MiMTSS) Technical Assistance Center for its exceptional implementation of MTSS practices during the 2023-2024 school year. Pullman Elementary earned Bronze-level awards in behavior support across all three MTSS tiers and an award for outstanding data utilization, marking it as a leader in fostering a positive, supportive learning environment.
This achievement is particularly meaningful as Pullman Elementary is the only school within the Van Buren ISD to receive this prestigious recognition, reflecting the dedication of the Pullman staff to promoting excellence and growth for all students. The awards highlight the school’s commitment to Bloomingdale Public Schools’ mission, “Cultivating a community of lifelong learners.”
Amber Mortensen, Principal of Pullman Elementary, expressed her pride in the team’s accomplishments, noting, “I am extremely proud of the work our Pullman staff has done to promote positive student behavior and to educate students around respectful, appropriate behavior. This is a continuous effort, and our team has shown remarkable dedication, professionalism, and hard work to reach this milestone.”
The MTSS recognition process aims to support Michigan educators by celebrating those who demonstrate excellence and progress in creating multi-tiered frameworks to meet the needs of every learner. “Bloomingdale Public Schools remains focused on building an environment that nurtures positive behaviors and high expectations,” stated Superintendent Rick Reo. “This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of Principal Mortensen and her team at Pullman Elementary. Their commitment to our students and their growth truly deserves to be celebrated.”
